About Nicole

I gratefully acknowledge the Larrakia (Saltwater people) as the traditional owners of the land on which I currently reside and I pay deep respect to their elders past, present and emerging. I stand on this land as a beneficiary of an uncompensated and unreconciled dispossession, which began over 200 years ago and continues today and through recognition I also seek action and change.

My name is Nicole (she/her) and I am a yoga teacher and social worker currently living in Garamilla (Darwin).

My foundation in Social Work, Community Development (CD), counselling and project implementation has afforded me opportunities to work with diverse populations of people in a variety of contexts. For almost two decades I have worked in the areas of mental health, homelessness, domestic and family violence, education as well as internationally in community health (NHS) and in a volunteer capacity in post war social reconstruction.

As a trauma sensitive yoga teacher I have spent the past 7 years teaching public classes and workshops to individuals and groups in workplaces, studios, community centres, at conferences and in schools, both in person and online. I have taught mental health support groups, refugees and emerging communities, older adults and people with chronic illnesses. I also lead day retreats with a focus on gentle movement and rest for emotional resilience and nervous system regulation.

I provide welcoming classes and workshops for individuals, groups and workplaces where all people regardless of experience are welcome.

My approach is to support students to gradually and gently be in their body through an accessible practice of yoga that is offered by invitation and guided by student choice.
