At Go Slow Yoga, the focus has always been on slowing down, caring for the nervous system, and creating space for wellbeing. Counselling is a natural extension of this vision. I offer professional, trauma-informed counselling to support individuals navigating grief, trauma, stress, and life transitions.
Counselling with Nicole
I am an Accredited Social Worker (Honours by Research) with advanced training in grief support, and over 20 years’ experience working in trauma‑informed care. Across this time, I have supported individuals through grief, trauma, stress, and life transitions, bringing both professional expertise and a compassionate presence to my work.
I bring particular experience in supporting individuals through child loss, including recurrent pregnancy loss. These experiences can be profoundly isolating and overwhelming, and my role is to provide a safe, confidential space to acknowledge grief, explore its impact, and strengthen the ability to manage stress and change.
My counselling practice integrates somatic and body‑based wisdom. This means paying attention not only to thoughts and emotions, but also to the signals the body sends — the subtle ways it communicates distress, safety, or resilience. Drawing on my experience as a registered yoga teacher, I weave embodied practices such as breathwork, mindfulness, and body awareness into counselling in ways that feel supportive, grounding, and accessible. These practices help regulate the nervous system, foster presence, and create space for healing.
I intentionally work with a small number of clients at a time, so I can be fully present in the work. This allows me to offer thoughtful, personalised support and to ensure that each client feels genuinely held in the process. Because of this, I am careful about who I take on, and I value a shared sense of fit, readiness, and clarity about what counselling involves.
